Support of Youth and Collegiate Sailing
Helping young people sharpen their sailing skills and learn to compete on the national and world stage is one of the main priorities of the Sailing Foundation.
Support is provided in a number of ways:
- Direct financial support for individual travel to regattas around the country - click here for a summary of our 2009 grants
- Assistance in acquiring boats for youth racing fleets in the Puget Sound area
- Sharing expertise with coaches and families involved in local youth sailing clubs
- TSF can act as a conduit for donations which require a 501(c)(3) qualified organization as a recipient, when the donation clearly addresses our mission.
- Development of the annual WIND Youth Racing Clinic, a great opportunity for young people to experience the heavy winds of the Columbia Gorge and hone their racing skills. WIND is now presented by the Columbia Gorge Racing Association.
