Safety at Sea

The Safety at Sea Committee of the Sailing Foundation is dedicated to promoting safe boating throughout both the commercial and pleasure boating industry.

In support of this effort, we conduct bi-annual Safety at Sea Seminars. These two-day seminars provide valuable information to cruising and racing sailors, as well as commercial operators.

The Committee also focuses on research into and development of products that enhance boating safety. In support of this goal, in 2011, the Sailing Foundation devloped a new Lifesling® program, including a new video, a PowerPoint presentation and training manual. Click here for a Press Release about the new program. Click here more information on the September 25th training session.
